Project Overview

This project is a comparative research resource for early childhood music education and teacher professional development across China and ASEAN countries.

Grounded primarily in national early childhood curriculum frameworks and related official sources, it examines policy positioning, aims, content, implementation, observation and assessment, and teacher development.

The Music Tree knowledge system is used as a translation resource between policy aspirations and classroom practice, not as a single regional curriculum standard.

Key Research Questions

  • How can early childhood teachers implement meaningful music experiences regardless of their musical background?
  • What professional competencies are required for high-quality early childhood music education?
  • How can international perspectives be adapted to diverse cultural and educational contexts?
